UPPA 2012 Grand Prize Winner

A wailing woman who lost her loved ones during the disastrous June 25, 2012 landslide that buried 18 people at Bulucheke sub-county, Bududa district, rolls on the ground at the scene of the tragedy. About 70 people sustained injuries while over 300 were displaced due to the prevailing land cracks in their areas. Landslides in Eastern Uganda are becoming more frequent due to deforestation and overpopulation.
